About a week ago I posted the z developed a constant and loud clicking/ clanking noise from startup to warmup. Feared it was the start of a rod knock. As a final effort I tried an additive called valvemedic in the crankcase. Instructions stated it should free up sticking lifters within a few miles of driving. At first there was no change, but at the 100 mile mark, the clanking was all but gone! The z drives smoother than ever, very psyched! I still do hear a light tapping at startup now, but disappears upon warmup. Just sharing some info for those with similar issues, since this seems to be a common occurrence with our aging z's. Will post follow in future.
